Housing Authority of Riverside County Hosts Enlightenment Banquet, Celebrating Pathways to Self-Sufficiency and Community Champions

The Housing Authority of the County of Riverside hosted their annual Enlightenment Banquet, community members gathered to learn how county programs are paving the way toward self-sufficiency. The Housing Authority’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program took center stage, showcasing how personalized support and incentives can help families build brighter futures. Attendees explored Riverside County Workforce Development - Job Seeker Services initiatives that connect job seekers with training and career opportunities, empowering them to secure higher-paying jobs and reduce their reliance on housing assistance. Community Action Partnership highlighted programs that provide tax preparation and utility assistance and Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley delivered an overview of paths to homeownership. The event was a powerful reminder that, with the right tools and guidance, the next step forward is within reach.
At the event, one client and one volunteer were formally recognized for their exceptional contributions. Julisa Merin received the Creating New Heights Award, while Bunker Rayner, a dedicated volunteer Program Coordinating Committee member for the FSS Program, was honored with the Foundation Award.
