Board of Supervisors Recognizes Exceptional Youth Advisory Council Members

June 23, 2026

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors recognized this year’s outstanding Youth Advisory Council (YAC) leaders and Spirit Award recipients! Over the past year, more than 160 high school students volunteered their time to support county events, learn about local government, and amplify the voice of youth across our communities.
Youth Commission Coordinator Joe Matthews introduced district YAC coordinators and honored commissioners, co‑commissioners, and Spirit Award winners for their exceptional leadership and service. Many of these remarkable students are heading to top universities including UC Berkeley, Stanford, UC Irvine, UCSB, and Cal Poly Pomona pursuing studies in political science, engineering, English, communications, and more.
Supervisors and staff applauded the students’ dedication, energy, and civic engagement, emphasizing how vital youth perspectives are in shaping the future of Riverside County. Congratulations to all the 2026 Youth Advisory Council awardees! Your hard work, passion, and commitment truly inspire us.
